Meet Dr. Liberty
Dr. Donald R. Liberty was born in Seoul, Korea and raised in Guam. He received his undergraduate degree a BBA, Cum Laude, in Finance/Economics from University of Guam and Doctorate in Dental Surgery degree, with distinction, from Indiana University School of Dentistry in 2000. He was a member of the National Dental School Honor Society-Omicorn Kappa Upsilon. Following graduation from dental school, he completed a four-year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Indiana University Medical Center, Methodist Hospital, Wishard Memorial Hospital and Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, Indiana in 2004. Dr. Liberty joined The Permanente Medical Group in 2005 and started the Maxillofacial Department in the Kaiser Permanente South Sacramento Medical Center and entered into private practice in 2010.
Dr. Liberty belongs to a number of organizations: American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, California Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, American College of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, International Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Sacramento District Dental Society.
Dr. Liberty has devoted his professional career to all aspects of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery practice with special interests in the treatment of Dentofacial deformities and Implant rehabilitation. He focuses on Dentoalveolar Surgery, Implants, Pathology, TMJ care and Jaw surgery. Dr. Liberty continues to pursue advanced training in various aspects of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery which includes: Implant rehabilitation, Cosmetic procedures, Jaw surgery, TMJ care and has always exceeded the continuing education requirements of California.
Major Liberty joined the US Army Reserve in 2001. He is assigned to the 328th Combat Support Hospital, Alpha Company. He has been deployed twice in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation New Dawn.
Dr. Liberty has also volunteered for multiple mercy missions to provide maxillofacial surgical care in many different countries.
Dr. Liberty has been married for 21 years to his wife Diane, a practicing dentist in Folsom. They have three children: Nisa, Nicholas and Jake. He has many interests outside of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery such as: mountain biking, sailing, snowboarding, wakeboarding, rafting, running and scuba diving.
